Puddles of Love

Good morning Everyone,

Today I want to share with you another easel card I made. Even though the message might be a bit "rainy", I made it whilst enjoying beautiful sunshine outside! :-)

The card was rather time consuming, I must admit; the umbrella and coat of the lovely Gorjuss girl were paper-pieced (some Glossy Accents went on the brolly & some Stickles on the coat, too!), the image itself coloured with Copics and ProMarkers. The shapes are die-cut and then embossed. There was also a whole lot of distressing, gluing things down, etc. I recycled a ribbon from a pressie that I got a while ago, and for the first time ever used some of the flowers that were hanging around in my drawers since forever (these got some Stickles also). The inside of the card uses the same piece of paper I used for die cutting the oval frame, and a small left-over strip of the red background paper which I ran through my punch.

The card was standing open for a while,
hence it was difficult to take a photo of the card closed - oops!

 Stickles on the coat:

You can see the punched strip of paper here:

Here you can see the Glossy Accents. Love this photo, btw! :)

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Totally Gorjuss - Embossing (Die-cut elements are embossed)
Cute Card Thursday - Can't stop the rain
Creative Creations Challenges - Photo Inspiration
Inky Chicks - Happy Birthday Girl
Love to Create - Bingo (Sentiment/Ribbon/Bling-stickles and Glossy Accents)
Inky Impressions - Photo inspiration (roses)
I love Promarkers - A square card with something round (rose)
Papertake Weekly - Weather with you
A Gem of a Challenge - Going Green
QKR Stampede - Favourite things (easel card, Gorjuss)

I am quite happy with the end result, and once I decide who will be the receiver of it - I hope they like it as much as I do! For now, let's just hope that coats, boots and brollies will be forgotten for a good while!

Have a lovely sunny day!

UP!

I haven't posted anything in the last couple of days, I know, but yet again both my personal and work life got a bit hectic... Mostly positively hectic, though, so I won't complain :)

This week's challenge over at Divas by Design is "Inspired by a Movie". The moment I saw the challenge, i thought of "UP!", and decided to give an idea that formed in my head a go... Am I fully happy with the card? Honestly - not really... it looked much better in my head! But, on the other hand, I think it's at least quite different to what I normally make, so it's probably not the worst... I was hoping to use a wooden house for the card but unfortunately my usual favourite supplier was out of them - oh well...!

Here's the final effect. The teeny tiny letters were a bit of a pain to glue down, but I think it was worth it! I used some black Stickles on the word "DREAMS", and some Distress Ink to make the sky-like effect.

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a Challenge - Distress it
Papertake Weekly - Weather with you (Sky)

What movies would you be inspired by to make your cards?

Some great news!

Good evening Everyone,

It's been a very hectic day today hence the late post, but I just had to finally share my great news, and today I am finally allowed! YAY! I am absolutely delighted to announce that I am now part of the Design Team over at Divas By Design. I could not be happier! My quiet goal for 2013 was becoming a member of a DT, and achieving that in just 4 months is simply making me want to jump for joy!!! Thank you very much for having faith in me, Rebekah!

In theory, it was not my turn or duty to make a card for this week's challenge over at DBD, but I made a card, of course, since it was my official "launch" :) I was just too excited not to make one. The theme for this week is Butterflies and Birds, and the sponsor is Dilly Beans Stamps. I had a hard time choosing my favourite digi, since there are many, but in the end I decided to use Anna Framed. Isn't she just adorable?

Have a look at the card below. Hope you like it! Go to the DBD challenge blog, then, and submit your own design!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

First White on White card

Hello Everyone,

Hope that you're having a lovely sunny day as well! I even had a BBQ to celebrate, and am suffering now due to having eaten too many burgers... hahaha... Oh well, one never knows when the next opportunity might come along! ;-)

I have recently seen a few white-on-white type of cards on blogs I browse through, and decided to give one a go myself. I am not sure I am 100% happy with the result, but for the first attempt - I guess it's not bad, huh?

I cannot wait to announce some fabulous crafty news, but I need to wait a few more days before I can do so...! Stay tuned! In the meantime, have a peek at the card below:

The tree image is stamped inside also, as you can see above

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

Love to Create Challenge Blog: White on White with a splash of Color
Dies to Die for Die-ing for a Challenge: Spring
Totally Gorjuss: Spring Shades
Cute Card Thursday: Butterfly kisses

I am also happy to announce that I am finally (almost!) healthy, which is really really good news!

Take care and enjoy the rest of your Sunday,

Trifold with a butterfly

Hi Everyone,

Today I want to share with you a little triangle trifold card I made for a Friend's Wife. Apologies in advance - I know the photos are not of the best quality, but unfortunately I finished the card late at night and had to give it to the Friend on the next day, hence didn't have the opportunity to take a photo in daylight.

My big passion in card-making is making different shaped or moving cards, but since they are usually rather time consuming - I don't get the chance to play with them too often. Plus, most of these are a bit more challenging to post as they are a bit thicker and/or heavier... Oh, first world problems!

Anyhow, hope you like the card. I was rather happy with the end result, but then again - I love anything with butterflies! ;-) The insert (using one of my fav Marianne Design's dies) has little swans on it - don't ask why - it was the Friend's request...

I am entering this card into the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Butterfly Kisses
Forever Friends - Diecuts/Punches
Creative Creations Challenges - Easter/Spring Creations
Dies to Die for Die-ing For a Challange - Spring

Please send some health my way,

Happy Birthday in SPRING (!) colours

Hello Everyone,

I hope that wherever you are, you can see at least signs of spring around you already! We have finally had a few nice enough days in Dublin, and if only I wasn't home-bound by sickness, I surely would be enjoying some nice walks now... Soon... :-)

In the meantime, my sick brain doesn't really feel too crafty, but I managed to make a Bday card for my Godmother. The first colours that come to my mind when I think spring are green and yellow, and so they play an important role on this card. I really wanted to add a button to the purple flower, and since I happened to have no yellow ones in my stash, I... "borrowed" one from an old sweater... Oh well, at least now I have a few more, in case I ever need them! ;-)

The card is, as usual, rather flat, since it's going to be posted, like most of my creations... I guess I will need to start thinking about card boxes soon, so that my cards can get a little bit more dimensional.

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

Passion for ProMarkers - Cut Out Your Images (yes, the LOTV image is fussy-cut! :))
Lili's Little Fairies - All Stitched Up
Cute Card Thursday - Something Borrowed
Divas By Design - Spring Colours
Inky Chicks - Use a background/Object stamp (I used the LOTV stamp, and the "arrows" one)
Totally Gorjuss - Anything goes with sparkle (the LOTV flower has Stickles glitter in the middle)
Creative Creations Challenges - Easter/Spring Creations

Sending some sunshine your way,

M.

For a beloved Daughter...

Hello everyone,

Just a quick post today - I wanted to share with you a little framed image that I made for a Friend. Her little (and very crafty!) daughter loves fairies, and so when my Friend saw one of my cards with the Wee Summer Fairy, she asked for a framed version of it. Below is the result, and the little one was apparently thrilled!

I am entering it into the following challenges:
Inky Impressions: For a Child
Divas By Design: Spring Colours
Passion for Promarkers: Fantasy (fairy)
Totally Gorjuss: Something Blue
Crafty Creations Challenges - Flowers or Fairies

Spring appears to have finally decided to visit us, but let's keep it quiet for now - I am worried we might scare Her away!

Got any change?

Good afternoon Everyone,

Hope you had a wonderful Easter! I know some of us had a very white one! Thankfully, it was rather sunny  over here, so not the worst. I did manage to get sick anyways, though, hence most my Easter time was spent in bed, with Lemsip, Vitamin C and all the rest... I didn't even have enough strength to be crafty...

Anyhow, today I want to share with you a rather quick and simple card I made for my friend's future father-in-law. He likes collecting coins, and so she asked for something related to his hobby. Here's what I came up with. And yes, it was very tempting to use a real €500 note for the shirt, but I would have had to charge a bit more for the card then! ;-)

I am entering this card to the following challenges:

Cute Card Thursday - Brass in Pocket
Divas By Design - Use Metal

Here's to a sunny April!
