Favourite Holiday Treat

Did you have as much stamina reading my recent posts, as I had making all these cards?! :-) I honestly cannot believe that I am really posting the last, 7th card of the Bugaboo challenge! Phew! That was some hard work! TGIF tomorrow! :D

So what's my favourite holiday treat? Honestly, there's loads... Gingerbread cookies in dark chocolate, I think... But surely, there's so much more! Anyhow, for the purpose of the challenge, I decided to go for Sugar Cookies with Sprinkles ("Make your card a shape other than Square or Rectangle, 3 pieces of Bling & Ribbon"), mostly because I got really tired of all these square cards!

And I have to say, I am rather pleased that I went for this recipe - the card looks much cuter in reality than in the below photos, and I am actually considering keeping it :-) And I know just the way to do it... It will be the card for my Hubby! :D He likes green and "simple" - this is pretty much as simple as I can go most of the time, so it should fit the requirements!

Hope you like it, too!

Can it stand? YES it can! :-)

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Inky Impressions - Christmas ornaments

The images used (both the Christmas Tree and the sentiment) are leftovers from my previous project - the little gift box. You can find the whole digi here, in case you would like to get one for yourself.

YAY! I MADE IT! Thank you so much, Bugaboo Team, for this fab challenge!

Cozy Up By The Fire

Good evening,

So, I am alive (barely, after all these late hours of crafting), and back! And I have more cards for the Bugaboo Holiday CHAOS Celebration challenge!

When I saw this challenge, I have to be very honest - I completely ignored the "recipes", and instinctively just went for my VERY favourite way of unwinding over Christmas - FUZZY BLANKET AND A FIRE!!! Ya, I would probably add all of the other ways also, but this is most definitely my first choice! What's under this category, so? "Use texture and at least 3 layers". Not a problem at all - I love layers... Here we go:

You can find the digi I used for this card here

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Scrapki-Wyzwaniowo: Strips

The red ribbon has such a gorgeous deep colour. Not really captured in these photos, I'm afraid, but you'll have to believe me. Or just hop down to the other posts - I am using it a lot recently! ;-)

So that's card number 5. Two to go...

Anything Goes for CHRISTMAS

OK, so here we go with the final card for tonight... Hopefully 3 more to come tomorrow! Fingers crossed! :-)

This was originally going to be the card for challenge number 3, but since I missed the bit about using the image with the mouse, I am using it for the last challenge, number 7 -  "anything goes". It' s a bit too cool of a card to use it "just" for anything goes, in my opinion, but since it doesn't really meet any other criteria (unless I really pushed it, which I don't want to do) - it will have to do.

I think it's one of my favourite creations this Christmas - it just makes me laugh every time I poke the Santa and make him bounce! He bounces thanks to the little "wobbler/spring" - you can see a bit of it in the close-up photo. I have also taken a quick video with my mobile, to show you the fun - hopefully it won't be uploading for ages! I just thought that the video would showcase the card much better than the photos... Am I right? :-)

I would also like to enter this card into the following competitions:
Passion for ProMarkers: Mega Christmas Challenge
Inky Chicks: Christmas

And don't you just love the sentiment? LOL

Time to go to sleep!

Ugly Sweater

Welcome back, time for card number three!

I have just realised that the 3rd challenge requires me to use a specific image - that will be the job for tomorrow, I guess! We're skipping number 3 and moving to number 4 for now, so.

I went for My Ugly Sweater - Use Red, Silver & Green + a Snowman. The snowman digi is a funny little fella (I believe the image itself would do just to the "funny" aspect of the card , but the inside message - I think - adds to it), and I decided to make him cheerful and colourful, to add to his character :-) Lots of bling, of course, even some liquid pearls in gold that went on the little star.

I made a little boo-boo, though, and took the photos without showing the inside message, which states "Missing you SNOW much this Christmas". Don't really want to take another pic now, since I have my personal wishes written around the message... Oops! Anyhow, the text is very apt, since the card is for one of my best friends who will spend her Christmas at home in Poland. I was meant to be there, too, but plans have changed and I am staying in Dublin... Oh well, the card should make it sweeter and easier :-)

I would also like to enter this card into the following challenges:

Are you gonna miss anyone SNOW much this Christmas?

Gift Wrapped

Hello again, long time no see ;-)

For the second challenge - Gift wrapped - I decided to make a little box. I bought some lovely handmade napkin rings for my Mum for Christmas, and the box will be just perfect for them! I used my Shape EZ gift pouch for this project, and I think the size of it made from an A4 piece of paper is just perfect for its needs!

The little blinged-up Christmas tree is Bugaboo's Make it Snappy - Oh Christmas Tree - I just cut out one of the trees, coloured it, added loads of sparkly bling, and voila! Love the cheerful papers also, and the cute little buttons. Oh! And I even made use of my wedding left-over velcro dots - a nice little touch that makes the pouch a proper gift-wrap! :-) What do you think?

I have 2 more to show off tonight so stay tuned!

Stella Says Sketch Holiday Chaos Edition

Whoop, what better way to start than from the beginning? ;-) The first challenge of the Holiday CHAOS over at Bugaboo is a "Stella Says Sketch".

Below is my creation, I decided to use the Christmas Bear - bear candy cane digi. I was so happy with my colouring of the cane - probably the first time I was properly happy with my choice of Promarker colours & their blending, and then a bit of a disaster happened - I used a Copic marker or two on the bear, and the printer ink started bleeding!!! Thankfully, the image doesn't look the worst, but I could be much happier with it, that's for sure...

Do any of you experience issues with Copics when colouring digital images printed onto Neenah solar white paper?!

Ready to see what I made for the second challenge? :-)

Bugaboo Holiday CHAOS celebration

Good evening Everyone,

Prepare for an explosion of posts on my blog over the next day or two! I have only now decided that I want to give the Bugaboo Holiday CHAOS celebration a go, and seeing that I have now less than 2 days to make and publish 7 (!) cards...well... need I say more? ;-)

Taking into consideration that I only come back from work 6-ish, I am really under bad time pressure, but hey! If I don't try, I won't succeed, right? I managed to create 4 cards tonight, which is not bad - more than half at the end of the day! - I will start posting them soon. They might not be the most complex cards in the world, and unfortunately their photos are taken during late evening hours, which means they won't be the nicest photos I have taken in my life, but hopefully you'll still like them!

I am sure a few more friends will be made happy with these this year, so it's seriously a win-win. A big pity that I have not started with these earlier, but I guess it's just such a typical me...always last minute! If you wanna try making the deadline with me - go over to the Bugaboo Challenge Blog for the challenge recipes!

Thanks for looking,

M.

Shaker Christmas card

Hello Everyone and happy Saturday!

I know I have been quiet here for a while again, but last week was unfortunately an absolute nightmare! A lot of work in work, and loads of work outside of work, too! I went to bed after midnight every day, then had to get up early, and all the craziness started again! Thankfully, it's all over now, and I believe the rest of December should be much better. Let's stay positive :)

In today's post I want to share one of my creations I made for the Divas by Design Challenge blog - the theme was "Feeling Festive". Feel free to pop over to the challenge blog and play along with us! :-)

The card is a shaker card - I wanted to try these for ages, and have finally had the courage to do so! It's a rather simple card, with not too many embellies, etc, but I think the shaker part doesn't really require a lot of additions to still make the card fun! It's actually not my first attempt at a shaker card, it's the second one - I have to hold off for a few more days before posting "the first one", though, since I want it to be a surprise for Someone.

I hope you like it!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
A Gem of a challenge - Anything goes
Paper Crafting Journey - It's Christmas time
Inky Impressions - Winter or snow
Inky Chicks - Buttons, Bows and bling (some of the "sequins" are also little buttons)

Have a lovely afternoon - I am planing to be LAZY! I deserve it ;-)

Good morning Everyone,

Yes, I know, I promised you all some Christmas cards, but today's post is going to be all about spring again! Ooops, I guess I am just having a hard time adjusting to winter ;-)

Anyhow - another triangle trifold card for you. Love how they turn out! And if they have butterflies, lovely colours and are for a loved person - they're even better! :-)

You can find this card over at the Divas By Design challenge blog this week - join us in the "Make it pretty" fun! I am sure we all like making pretty things...!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

Purple Wedding

Good evening Everyone,

A quick post just to show you one of my recent creations. A friend at worked asked me to make this card for her Goddaughter's wedding. She asked for a purple gatefold card, and since she has seen a few similar creations of mine before, she was rather specific about her order :-)

She was really delighted when I presented the card to her... And I guess it wasn't just a way of her trying to be nice to me - I have heard from fellow colleagues that she showed the card to half the floor, and praised my cards! :-) It's so lovely to get such nice & genuine feedback!

The bride & groom have not seen the card yet, but since no names are mentioned (neither on the card nor in my post) - I am feeling quite confident that me posting the card here won't do any damage!

Hope you have a great weekend... I need to work on finishing my wedding "thank you cards" (high time -it was 3 months ago already!!!eeek!), and then gotta plan on some more Christmas creations, finally! I made a few in the last few days - watch this space, I will post them here soon.

A bit of spring...!

Today I want to share with you a card I made for the Divas By Design challenge blog. The challenge for this week is "use a digi", and our sponsor is Bugaboo Digi Stamps. So many fab designs to choose from!

For this week's challenge, I decided to use the beautiful Thank you tulip block (you can find it here). The first time I saw this digi, I absolutely fell in love with it! And yes, I know, we're all currently more in the "let it snow" mood, but since I had a lot of sunshine peeking in through the window today, I decided to give a more "springy" card a go. And goodness, it put me in a great optimistic mood! I definitely needed that!

Of course, you know me, I had to use a bit of glitter and glossy accents here and there... And voila! Below you can see the result.

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
I love Promarkers - All that glitters
Cute Card Thursday - Sparkles
Bugaboo Challenge Blog - November anything goes

Let's stay optimistic! Spring will be back...eventually! ;-)

Wedding double-fold card

Today I want to share with you my recent very-favourite style of cards - I call it double fold. They're perfect for special occasions, and I have recently made a few for weddings. This one was, I think, my second attempt at it. Love love LOVE how they turn out, really impressive looking, and whoever I make them for always like them, too!

Loads of photos today, but I wanted to show you all the little details on the card - stay with me till the end! :-) I will post the other ones I have recently made soon.

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Sparkles
Paper Crafting Journey - Anything goes

Hope you like it!

Have a great weekend,

31 October 2013

Finally back...

... after a rather long break! But now that I am married (yay!), back from the honeymoon (not so yay, cause I was hoping to be able to stay there forever!), and well settled in my new job (yay again!), I finally have the time to start blogging again! :-)

I haven't been completely idle, and cards were of course made throughout the last 3 months, but I just had no time to go back to the world of blogging... And yes, truth be told, after the long honeymoon break - my mojo was a little bit lost, so in fairness I have not managed to make too many new creations... However, I am certain that bit by bit we'll get there!

Before I go, I just HAVE to share the fantastic news - I have a new crafty "friend" in my craftroom now - my hubby bought me a Silhouette Cameo as a wedding gift!!! Still can't really believe it! Gonna have to learn step by step how to use it properly, so you might start seeing a new style of Mirella's handmade creations soon! Anyone out there with a Cameo? Let's learn together!

Have a great Halloween night!

Hello Everyone,

I'm back after a longish enough break, but as you know - I will be away for most of July/August & September, only popping in every now and then. I thought I would say a quick hello and share with you a card I made for the Love to Create Challenge Blog - Jackie asked me to guest design for her. Thanks Jackie! The theme is Hugs and Wishes, and we got to play with Stamp Annie Thing's stamps.

Hope you like it! It's really cheerful, love the colour combo!

I'm entering the card into the following challenges:
Cute Card Thursday - Oranges and Lemons
Inky Impressions - Summer
Creative Creations - Anything goes
I love Promarkers - Anything goes

Have a good evening,

M.
