Layered Birthday Card

Hi Everyone,

Happy Leap Day! Hope you've had a great Monday. It's rainy and gloomy here, which is not a nice change after the lovely sunshine we had here last week... Oh well, all we can do is hope for some more sun!

Today I am sharing a layered birthday card with you, which I was asked to make for a friend's mum - a 60th birthday does require a special celebration, doesn't it? I was asked to include a floral image, and not to make it too pink & girly - whilst still using SOME pinks, ha! Oh, and number 60 was meant to show on the card, but discretely enough.

I hope you like what I created. The photos are not the best quality, and the Distress Ink blending is definitely better in reality than it is in the photos, but this is the best I could do with the current weather :o(

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Crafty Friends - Floral
QKR Stampede - Birthday cards
I love ProMarkers - Use a number
Inky Chicks - Ribbon and/or lace

Have a great week,

M.

Sending sunshine shaker card with Pretty Pink Posh Stitched Duo 3

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing with you another shaker card that I created with some of the goodies I have recently won/purchased - it's very unlike me to dig into new goodies straight away, and to start using "perishable" items like papers, embellishments etc... - I am normally OK with using dies and stamps straight away, but am always hesitant to use the rest, as it's too pretty to use it, LOL! However, I made a promise here that I will stop hoarding, so there you have it - I am doing my very best!

This card is a little pick-me-up for a crafty lady that I have been following on YouTube for quite a while now - check out Peggy's channel here. She has recently lost her doggy Rose, and in addition is not too happy with no spring outside of her window, and so I thought that my "sunshine" goodies were quite apt.

The card is only on its way to Peggy, but since I don't think she is following my blog, I am guessing I'm pretty safe to post the card here already - especially that it was partially inspired by the current challenge over at Sparkle and Shine! :o)

Hope you like what I created!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

QKR Stampede - Pile it on

Have a great week!

Lasting Hearts Card Drive

Hi Everyone,

Today I am sharing with you four cards that I made for the Lasting Hearts Card Drive. If you are not familiar with it, or have heard "something" about it but would like to have more details - please check Jennifer McGuire's post here. I think it is an absolutely wonderful  and worthy cause, and therefore did my best to find a little bit of spare time to make these. I hope they make their recipients feel a bit better.

Be prepared for a lot of photos in this post -  four cards means four times more pictures LOL. There's also a short YouTube video, where you can get more information on the products I used.

I have been recently quite obsessed with the canvas sketch pads that I bought in Lidl - I used them for the first time on these cards, and soon after making these I ran to the shop to get a few extra pads - one cannot be sure when (and IF) these will ever be back for sale (at least in Lidl)! Making these backgrounds with my Distress Inks was easy-peasy, and thanks to some Perfect Pearls in the water I used for painting - the cards all have a lovely shimmer.

Ans now sit back, relax, and get scrolling! :o) I am very pleased with the end result and I hope that you like the cards too!

And here's the YouTube video I mentioned:

I am entering the cards into the following challenges:
QKR Stampede - Pile it on
Crafty Friends - Girly (The card I am entering is the one with the butterfly)

Have a great weekend!

Pretty Pink Posh love tag

Hi Everyone,

Today I am back with a love-themed creation. I don't normally do a lot of Valentine's Day projects, but I always end up making a few bits and pieces, since this day doesn't only have to be celebrated with your partner - there are loads of people around who we want to let know that we love them, right?!

I got a little gift from some family members recently, and I decided I would like to add my own handmade tag to it. If you follow me on Instagram and Youtube, you would have noticed my recent happy announcement where I showed off the Pretty Pink Posh goodies I chose as my prize from the recent 2 years celebrations giveaway on their blog. I have wanted to try Paulina's goodies for so long already that I just couldn't resist digging into them as quickly as possible!

I chose to do a little shaker tag, using the Decorative Tag 1 dies, and let me tell you - these dies cut through paper, acetate and fun foam (that's what I got to test them on) like through butter! So far, I am very happy with them! The backing paper I used is one of the pages I got from Janette Kausen (again - check out YouTube for more info), and for the shaker element I added some of Paulina's Iridescent Mini Star Confetti and some little hearts I cut out myself from a red mirror card, using this Simon Says Stamp die.

I added some green twine and green sequins from the Sweet Pea sequin mix, since the colour combination of my tag was inspired by Gayatri's card from the PPP blog.

And voila, the tag is ready! I hope you like it!

I am entering this tag into the following challenges:

Pretty Pink Posh - Photo inspiration (Gayatri's colour combo)
valentinechallenge
A Gem of a challenge - Love is in the air
Inky Chicks - Love letters and/or hearts

Thanks for stopping by!

Valentine's Day With Mama Elephant's Three Amigos

Hi Everyone,

The time is surely flying! We barely got out of the Christmas craze, and Valentine's Day is already just around the corner! Are you ready for it? :o)

I wanted to create a trifold card for my hubby this year, and decided to challenge myself a little bit and try fitting my Valentine's Card into a blog challenge or two... The trifold idea suited perfectly for the fancy folds challenge, however I struggled a little bit more with the photo inspiration challenge (see photo at the end of the post) - I didn't have any images with an envelope! I rummaged through my stash, started thinking a bit outside the box and... voila, an idea came to my head! I decided to draw my own envelope in the hands of this cute little creature from the Mama Elephant "Three Amigos" stamp set. I think it looks pretty neat, doesn't it?!

The rest of the card is really quick and simple - some embossing with an addition of distress inks, some sequins for a bit of bling, a bit of Glossy Accents here and there... the hubby came back from a walk with the Little One just in time for me to have it finished & hidden away, phew! Oh, I also stamped the little guy inside the card, and made him present my message! :o)

I hope you like it!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:

Seven Hills Crafts - Fancy Folds
Sparkle And Shine - Photo Inspiraton

A Gem of a challenge - Love is in the air
QKR Stampede - Valentine Cards
Crafty Friends - Animals/Birds
Inky Chicks - Love and/or Hearts

Have a great Valentine's Day!
