Gorjuss are so gorgeous! :-)

I am after getting my first Gorjuss stamp (love them & am planning to get at least a few more!), so of course I had to use the opportunity of some time over the weekend to make a card with it. I thought the stamp would be a good one to try out a technique I was always curious about - paper piecing. For the first attempt - not a bad result, right?

I used some Papermania textured and smooth card-stock, a few Copics for the skin and hair. The stamp is Gorjuss Little Ducky (yes, I know what you're thinking - where's the ducky? Well...it got removed for the purpose of this card... ;-)). A little bit of Star Dust Stickles on the hair band and dress, and a few flowers from Prima, and voila! Good for any occasion, thanks to such a generic sentiment.

Hope you like it!

First Valentine

Today I would like to share with you the first Valentine's Day card that I made in 2013. Not sure yet if it's going to be for sale, or if my OH will receive it - regardless, I have to say that I am rather happy with it! It's pretty much a CAS (Clean & Simple) card, and to be perfectly honest - it's probably what I most like about it (this, and the cute image!).

I just couldn't wait to use one of the Penny Black Every Which Way stamps - I fell in love with them when I first saw them online, and even though it was getting close to Christmas and I should have had snowflakes and baubles on my mind - I just had to get the stamp set! Stay tuned for more projects with some of the cuties from this set, cause there will surely be more!

Just a few Copics, a teeny bit of Glossy Accents on the hearts, a ribbon from my stash, an embossing folder for the background (Cuttlebug Swiss Dots), some Distress Inks for edging, and done! Oh, and the Apron Lace Fiskars border punch... And then for the rest - "all you need is love..."

My first challenge post

I have recently made two birthday cards for two lovely ladies from the Cardz'n'Scrapz Birthday Club.

Since as part of my Christmas gift from my Parents, I received a few Lili of the Valley stamps, I decided to use one of them, and by the way practise my colouring a bit (I am new to colouring with Copics and ProMarkers, and these are one of the first images I have coloured so far, so bear with me & also - please share some constructive feedback :)).

The end result of the colouring was not perfect, in my honest opinion, but in general I am rather happy with the cards. Here they are:

Materials used:
Cardstock: Anita's Square Quality Cream Cards (cut to a size I was happy with)
Backing paper: K&Company Designer Mat Pad - Julianne Vintage
Sentiment Stamps: Freebies from card-making magazines by Wee Stamps & Adam Pescott
Ribbon & Bling - from my stash
Colouring: ProMarkers and Copics
Inks: Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black & Distress Inks for the edging

I hope the recipients liked my cards!

3..2..1.. GO! Let's make this happen!

A year and a bit into card-making, and I have finally decided to give blogging a go. A kind of a New Year's resolution... I have to admit, it's not my first blogging experience but it's for sure my first "creative" one, and the first one in English, too!

I am hoping to mainly dedicate this blog to my creations, but surely bits and pieces of my life/observations/rambling, etc. will get involved also... At the moment,  my creations are mostly cards but I am planning to expand my skills.

I have to say that I have actually never thought that there was anything creative in me, but since I started my adventure with card-making, people claim I am an "artist" now, so why the heck not trying to think positive and believing that I am, indeed, creative?! Well, time will tell, I guess, so let's see where this blog takes me, and what I can say about this experience and my "skills" in 2014...

For now - wishing myself and anyone who reads this a Happy New Year 2013. Here's to a good great one!
