CASOMETRY CHALLENGE 3 - Stage 2 with Honey Bee Stamps

Hello Everyone,

Today I'm back with stage 2 of the CASometry Challenge by Anna Kossakovskaya. So quickly? - you may ask... Well, I know she only posted the challenge yesterday, but it just so happens that I am going away for a week on Sunday morning, and so... I didn't have much time, I had to act fast! (LOL) That also means that I will probably be a bit of a last minute entrant for stage 3, but I am really determined to make all stages this time, early or late! :o)

Before I share some more info about my card, I just want to say HUGE THANK YOU to Anna, for featuring my card in her blog post. The 6 participants might have been chosen randomly, but I am still happy (I don't need a lot to be happy, see?)!

Stage 2 - One random stamp set + using one stamp minimum 3 times

I wish you could have seen my face expression when I saw the requirements for the second stage. It's easy peasy, right? Well, not so much when your random stamp set is... a sentiment set! Although, I have so say, I brainstormed, and there are LOADS of possibilities. I just wish I had the time to explore them all! :o)

I need an anniversary card for next week (10 years together with my hubby, wow! That's quite impressive when you're only in your early 30s, right?), so in the end this is what I came up with - and do bear with me, please, as this is a card that was REALLY hard to take photos of:

I know it's hard to see, so let me explain a bit: the panel is matted with gold foil paper. The background is patterned paper. On top, we have a vellum heart (I wish I had thicker vellum... but in person it is much more visible than in the pictures...), and the sentiment on the heart is heat embossed with gold embossing powder. And I used HAPPY three times, see? :o) Actually, I used it 4 times - see the last photo, showing the sentiment inside the card...

I am super happy that I got to use the stamp set by Honey Bee Stamps - that font is absolutely amazing! That's another set from my NBUS (Never Before Used Stamps) pile, woohoo!

I am entering the card into:
CASometry Challenge 3 - Stage 2  (used "happy" stamp 4 times)

I hope hubby enjoys his card. I know it's a bit girly, but in the end - it's kind of for both of us, right? :o)

Take care and I'll be back after my holidays,

Mirella

Cotton wedding anniversary with Penny Black's "Delicate Florals"

Hi Everyone,

This is most probably my last post before the baby's arrival, hence please don't be surprised if this blog gets a bit quieter for the next few weeks, maybe months? I have no idea how quickly I will be ready to get back to crafting and blogging... Hopefully soon enough, as it's so nice and relaxing! However, my new little Bundle of Joy will be, of course, taking priority! :o)

Today I am sharing a 2nd wedding anniversary card I made for my hubby (and myself, LOL). I just HAD to use this Penny Black "Delicate Florals" stamp the moment I got it in the postbox, and I decided that - since the 2nd anniversary is "cotton" - I will try to use some cotton wool on the flowers. All my ProMarker colouring got covered that way, unfortunately, but the colour still peeks through the cotton wool bits, which I think gives quite a nice effect. Other than that, I decided to keep the card simple enough (yeah, I know, I did add some sequins!), as the hubby likes the "Keep it Simple, Stupid" rule ;o)

Since my fingers were already inky & crafty, and I had a lot of supplies out, I also made another card using the same stamp, with a completely different effect & technique - I will have a feeling this will be my "go to" stamp set for a while now! I will share this at some point, surely!

In the meantime, have a peek at my anniversary card and let me know what you think of the "cotton" idea:

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
I Love ProMarkers - In the garden
Passion for ProMarkers - Summer Lovin
Penny Black August challenge - Hot summer colours
Penny Black and More - Summer Flowers
Sparkle and Shine - Challenge 11, photo inspiration

Take care!

Happy Anniversary!

Hello Everyone,

Time to share my recent "little" project - a wedding anniversary present for myself and my hubby...made by me! I love having wedding-related keepsakes in our house - I just wish I could do it all over again! - and so I thought that using a bit of my craftiness to add to our small collection would only be appropriate :o)

The project originated during a class I took a while ago with the amazing Finnabair (aka Ania Dabrowska), however I have tweaked it here and there recently, before putting it in the frame. It's my first big mixed-media project and I am really in love with it. If I continue with the mixed media journey, surely I will look back at this project and think "Did I really think THAT was good!?"... I have that with my first cards now... However, whatever way my skills in this area will go - this project will always be close to my heart because of its theme.

The layout is framed in a rather huge frame we got in Ikea (yup, joint effort here!), and since it's hung in the hallway - it greets all the guests & invites them to our home. I have to say (a bit self-lovingly) that I love the picture I used- it's generic enough that anyone could imagine themselves in it, and so in theory it could even be gifted to anyone (not that I am planning to do so, LOL).

I was silly enough not to have taken any pictures before I framed the layout, and so it wasn't too easy to take pictures through the glass... And I wanted to share a bit of the details... Hope you don't mind!

I am entering my project into the following challenges:
I love ProMarkers - feeling distressed
Inky Impressions - primary colours
Inky Chicks - Anything goes
Passion for ProMarkers - Make it digital (the photo)
Love to Create - Add some lines
Scrapki Wyzwaniowo - Imagine
Moving Along With the Times - It's texture time

Hope you like it!

Would you be happy to receive a gift like that as a wedding anniversary gift?

Hugs,
M.

P.S. You can see this project and many more fabulous ideas over at Divas by Design this week. The theme this time is "Anything but a card" and there is plenty of great ideas to choose from! We also have some lovely prizes, as usual! Join us and show us what you have created!
