Thank you card with Altenew

Hi Everyone,

If you follow me on Instagram, you probably remember that around my daughter's first birthday I asked my crafty friends to send handmade birthday cards for the special occasion. To my huge surprise, I received quite an amount of them (and I am so, so grateful! They'll be such an amazing keepsake!), and now that I have my crafty supplies back - it's time to start working on the thank you cards...

My mojo appears to be slightly shy in this new crafty environment, so the makes are not coming together too quickly (let's face it, it's the lack of free time that is mainly the issue here!), however I am slowly putting some cards together, and am hoping to be able to send out the first batch soonish enough. Oh, sometimes I wish I was better at mass producing cards, but I really just prefer to make each of them unique...

Anyhow, since my last post and video, I had the new Altenew stampset on my desk, and decided to put it to (hopefully) good use. It just so happens, that I also recently splurged on a MISTI, and so the new "toy" and the layering stamps felt like the perfect choice. Long story short - I LOVE THEM! Both! Many have said it before me, and I am sure many still will follow - the Misti is an amazing tool! Yes, it's overpriced, but boy it is so much fun, and makes me less scared of trying out different designs, techniques, stamping sentiments at the very end, etc... Oh, I was a happy camper-stamper! :o)

Here's the card I made - not 100% happy with it, but it's the best I could put together during the baba's nap. And in fairness, the more I look at it, the more I like it! :o) And what I am mostly impressed with, is the fact that these flowers are stamped with Distress Inks - layering is key here - thank you MISTI!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
SSS - Anything goes (Wednesday challenge)

Thanks for stopping by, I hope you have a great Friday and weekend,

Altenew video contest

Hello Everyone,

Today's video and post will be a little different to what you might be used to with me, but nevertheless I hope you're going to enjoy it!

The lovely folks over at Altenew are having a very cool challenge at the moment, where they ask you to make a video sharing information about their company, why we love their products, etc. You can find all of the details here. I wanted to do a little bit more than just talk about Altenew, since I wanted my video to be a little bit more catchy... Let's face it - Altenew is no ordinary company AND in addition, the prizes in the competition are really fantastic, so I wanted to stand out a little :o)

It took me a good while to come up with something I was happy with. And then, one evening, as I was watching (for like the 10th time) a very popular TV series... the intro music came on, and I had my Eureka moment!

You might not know that about me, but I love singing. [It might be a good moment now to mention that I sing because I like it, not because I'm good at it, LOL] Anyways, quite often (mostly to annoy the Hubby, but sometimes to cheer him up, too!) I have a tendency of changing the lyrics of a popular song, just to describe a particular situation we're in. It's usually a once-off performance, the lyrics are created as I sing, and nobody hears that version of the song ever again (and let me tell you, some real gems were lost that way, haha!). This time, I got a little bit more prepared since I had to record myself - all for the purpose of the competition...

I hope you're going to enjoy my little "performance". I'm pretty sure you'll know what TV series I'm re-watching now, too! But most importantly - if you have not heard of Altenew before, I hope my video will encourage you to check them out. And if you do know them - well, let's just say we all "gotta get some new stamps soon"... am I right? ;o)

Have a great week,

#HelpSusie.com initiative and some life updates

Hi Everyone,

It's been absolutely ages since my last post, and it's also been a very long while since I last crafted - I missed it hugely! I am glad to be back now, and hopefully within the next few weeks I'll manage to get back to a crafty and blogging routine.

I have a few life updates for you on my YouTube channel, and those of you who follow me on Instagram might have had a few insights into my move to Helsinki & my "adventures" with the moving company. Long story short, everything is more less in order now - our stuff from Dublin finally arrived (with a month of a delay!), the movers did damage a few of my crafty supplies but thankfully agreed to reimburse me for the damages through an insurance claim (phew!), and now it's time to start a proper life here... that also includes crafting - woohoo!

Here's the first card that I put together in my new crafty space - I have not made it from scratch, I cheated and used a panel I already made back in Dublin, but since I was in a need for a card quickly, that seemed like the best option! :o) And speaking of the need for a card - I strongly encourage you to go over to DiDeDi Crafty Corner's YouTube channel, and checking out her #HelpSusie.com initiative. This card is already on its way to Susie, I hope she'll like it.

I am entering this card into the following challenge:
A Gem of a challenge - Female birthday

I sincerely hope that I'll manage to craft more & blog more in the nearest future. It's become a bit complicated since our little baba came to this world - wish me luck! :o)
