Hi Everyone,
I know I have been missing in action on most of my social media accounts but I'm afraid I got some nasty flu that I don't seem to be able to shift... I've been sick for way over a week now, and the past few days were rather bad... I haven't entered my craftroom in days, and truth be told it's making me quite miserable. The yucky weather outside is not helping either - I haven't even been able to take decent photos of cards I did make last week!
I took the plunge with this card, in terms of photos - so please apologise the slight gloominess... it's really the best I could do with zero sunshine outside :o(
The card (or some of its elements) was actually created kind of "by accident", but I am considering it a happy accident! I was testing out my new Ranger Enamel Accents, and making a few "blobs" here and there, to see how they work. I was airing the bottles by squeezing some of the colourful goodness on a scrap piece of paper, and eventually decided to toss out the scrap. So, I folded the scrap stripe in half, not to make too much mess in my bin with the liquid that was still wet... and then for no reason at all, I decided to unfold it... And what did I see? A beautiful butterfly!
Well, fair enough, it needed a butterfly body, but the shape of the colourful liquid on the piece of scrap paper was just a perfect shape of butterfly wings! Or is it only me who can see it? :o)
Either way, I decided to go with it, and create a card with the accidentally made butterfly - I love butterflies, as you know, and I will use any opportunity to stick them on cards ;o) And let's face it - if I try to recreate it purposely now, I will probably never be able to again!
The rest of the card came together very quickly - somehow the vibrant colours of the butterfly made me think of a grey background on the card, for contrast... I took out some of my favourite SSS stampsets from the Reason to Smile release, and hey presto - the card was ready in no time!
I hope you like it as much as I do!
Oh, and I finally had the opportunity to play with my Spectrum Noir Sparkle Pen - somehow, the champagne hue of the Wink of Stella didn't seem right for this card, but the silver shimmer from the Spectrum Noir pen was just perfect!
I am entering this into the following challenges
SSS Monday Challenge - Spread your wings
SSS Wednesday Challenge - Anything Goes
SSS Work it Wednesday - Something new (my new Spectrum Noir pen)
SSS Work it Wednesday - Something new (my new Spectrum Noir pen)
Wishing you all a great (and healthy!) week,
Mirella
