Birthday card with Penny Black

Hi Everyone,

Hope that the new year has been treating you well so far? I have definitely been treated well in the crafty world - I was chosen top 3 in the Sparkle and Shine challenge (see post below), and I won some crafty surprise goodies which are currently on their way to me - so yay and let's hope it continues that way ;o) I am hoping that as the year progresses, I will also have more crafty time as such - for now I'm still struggling but I'm trying!

Today's project is a birthday card I made for a special lady - the card has not been delivered yet so that's all I can say for now! :o) Love this Penny Black "Dreamy" stamp - this has been on my wishlist for years and I finally got it at the end of last year. Lots of distress ink blending, some vellum, and - of course - some bling, using sequins this time (and not Wink of Stella LOL). The sentiment is from WPlus9 "Unforgettable". Oh, and let's not forget the Mama Elephant Femme Frames, of course!

Hope you like it!

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Penny Black Saturday - Anything goes
QKR Stampede - Lots of Layers
Penny Black and more - One for the girls
Seven Hills Crafts - January 2016 Challenge (middle photo colour inspiration)

Have a great day,
M.

Happy New Year!

Hi Everyone,

Belated Merry Christmas and a Happy (Crafty!) New Year. I know I have been missing in action for a while again, but between my baby girl's christening, Christmas, my parents' visit and other craziness there was simply no time for blogging. There was very little time for crafting, too, but more time for this than for blogging for sure... In fairness, if I have a few minutes to spare nowadays, I prefer to get inky then "bloggy", so I hope you understand and can forgive me!

I am starting this new year 2016 with a card made using the fabulous WPlus9 stamp from the "Unforgettable" stamp set. I think it's super adorable and versatile. I decided to turn it into a little shaker card, to use up some of the beads I found recently from my cross-stitching times in the past. The sentiment and dies are from Mama Elephant (I think the Femme Frames is the most used die-set EVER in my entire collection!). The background was made with Distress Inks and some water. And, of course, some sequins to add a bit of bling.

I won't lie to you - simple as the card may be, I think it took me 2 or 3 days to finish it, as I only had 15 minutes here, 10 minutes there to spare... But I am glad I made it, as the end result is exactly what I had hoped for, if not more!

Hope you like it!

I raised this little guy on some foam squares for additional interest

I am entering the card into the following challenges:
Sparkle and Shine - photo inspiration

Inky Impressions - All things new (my new stamp set from WPlus9)
QKR Stampede - Feathers and Fur (elephants do have hair, right? :-))
Crafty Friends - Use something new (my new stamp set from WPlus9)

 Here's to a great year!

M.
