Preparing for Christmas 2020 - January

Hi Everyone,

This year, I am planning to make some Christmas cards each month, so that I have a decent enough pile of cards ready to post out in December. I am hoping to make at least 2 cards each month. Anything else will be a bonus :0) Let's see how I get along!

For January, I made two CAS cards with some lovely stamps by Jane's Doodles. 

As you can see, they're simple enough - some ink blending for the background, some Copic colouring, fussy cutting, and pretty much voila! ;o) I am really happy with how they turned out, and I am particularly happy with the colouring of the little church - the lights really look like they're glowing inside the building during this snowy night, don't they?

On a separate note, I am loving the cool "spotlight" kinds of stencils that have appeared on the market recently - they save tonnes of masking paper, and lots of time, too! My circle ones are by Trinity Stamps, and I am very happy with the sizes of these. 

Okay so, January done and dusted, let's see if I manage again next month!

Valentine's Day Card with Jane's Doodles To The Moon

Hi Everyone,

Happy Valentine's Day! Are you going to celebrate today? My Hubby and I are not - we rarely celebrate this day with something super special... We do go out for a nice meal or a treat around Valentine's Day (not necessarily on the day itself - it's usually way too commercialised out there for us on the day), but this year it's a little bit trickier, seeing that we have a one month old in the house, PLUS the toddler ;o) We'll surely do something nice as a whole family in the coming weeks, though!

Even though we don't fully celebrate V-Day, I did find a box of my favourite chocolates waiting for me this morning, and a cute card from the Hubby and the girls. And I do have a card for Him as well... It's only fitting, seeing that I make cards, right? In a year or two I'll probably start making cards for the girls also - for that I actually can't wait :o)

But, back to card making, LOL. My Valentine's Day card for the Hubby was made with the recently released To The Moon set by Jane's Doodles - I actually chose it as a prize when I won a giveaway organised by Jane, and I couldn't be happier with that set - it's super versatile, especially for those tricky male cards! 

I opted for a galaxy background, and some ZIG colouring (obsessed with these recently - they make colouring so fast, easy AND quite impressive-looking). I did not plan to make the card so sparkly, but let's just say that we had a little oopsie (AKA a glitter pen leaked!), so I had to go with it. 

Overall, I am super happy with the card, and I hope the Hubby likes it, too!
